Suggested Itinerary

DAY 1 - HOBART > CURRINGA FARM
Total Distance: Approx 78KM / 1 hour 10 mins

On arrival, pick up Hertz rental car and proceed to drive to the farm. Enroute, stop by supermarket to get some snacks for your road trip. On arrival at the farm, you have all the time to relax and enjoy the 750 acre scenic farm OR perhaps book a farm tour (own expense @ S$60 per person) where the host will take you to see sheep shearing, working farm dogs, forest walks and river views (Subject to availability). This evening, you might want to dine in as the house is fully equipped with cooking facilities (Do clean up all utensils before checking out).

Overnight: Curringa Farm

DAY 2 - CURRINGA FARM > MT FIELD NATIONAL PARK > BONORONG WILDLIFD SANCTUARY > HOBART
Total Distance: Approx 126KM / 2 hours

Check out after breakfast. Your first stop today will be to the Mt Field National Park for a short trekking. Mt Field National Park is one of Tasmania's oldest and most accessible national parks. The visitor centre has walking information, interpretation displays, a shop, eco-playground and bistro. There are a number of walks in the park through tall forests, alpine meadows and rainforest. Three-tiered Russell Falls - the park's most visited spot - is an easy 20-minute circuit from the visitor centre. On the nearby Tall Trees Walk (30 minutes), you can see the world's tallest flowering plant - the giant swamp gum - with a height of up to 30 metres.

Following lunch, proceed to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, a Sanctuary for wildlife run by a passionate team of like-minded people. They're a social enterprise: a little business with a big heart. Your admission ticket include joining one their daily scheduled guided tours (11.30am, 2.00pm and 3.30pm). These tours give you the opportunity to meet some of the most popular locals: the wombats, devils and koalas. You will hear little-known facts and stories of the wildlife in their care!

Thereafter, proceed to Hobart where you will stay for the night. This evening, you might want to consider having dinner at one of the restaurants at the Waterfront.

Overnight: Hobart

DAY 3 - HOBART > MT WELLINGTON > PORT ARTHUR
Total Distance: Approx 129KM / 2 hours 10 mins

Check out as early as possible for a 30 mins drive up to Mt Wellington for spectacular views across Southern Tasmania including an elevated look over the beautiful city of Hobart. Especially beautiful during sunrise!

Following that, proceed to Port Arthur Historic Site. The site has more than 30 buildings, ruins and restored period homes dating from the prison's establishment in 1830 until its closure in 1877. During this time around 12,500 convicts served sentences and for many it was a living hell. Your site entry ticket includes an introductory guided tour, harbour cruise, access to the Port Arthur Gallery, house museums and the gardens.

This evening, you might want to check out if you have any luck with Southern Light at Tessellated Pavement located just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel.

Overnight: Port Arthur

DAY 4 - PORT ARTHUR > COLES BAY
Total Distance: Approx 255km / 3 hours 30 mins

Before leaving Port Arthur, you might want to take a quick look at the Blow Hole and the scenic lookout points like Tasman Arch and Devils Kitchen. Thereafter, proceed to Richmond a picture-perfect town in the heart of the Coal River Valley wine region that tells the story of an early Australian colonial village. This is the perfect place to learn about Tasmania's past and can be as easy as a stroll down the pretty nineteenth century streets. Richmond has more than 50 Georgian buildings, many beautifully restored and now operating as cafes, restaurants, galleries and accommodation. The town's most photographed landmark is the Richmond Bridge. Built by convicts in the 1820s, it's the oldest bridge in Australia and offers a perfect picnic spot on the grassy banks of the Coal River. Also check out The Richmond Gaol, the oldest gaol in Australia. Standing inside the stone cells gives an eerie insight into the hardships and brutality of convict life in early Van Diemen's Land.

Continue the drive towards Coles Bay. En-route, stop by at Kate Berry Farm. Kate offers a unique range of mouth-watering quality produce and products that highlight what Tasmania does so well. Treat yourself to Kate's Handcrafted Chocolates or taste her unique range of sumptuous jams, sauces, fruit wines made from Kate's home grown fruits.

On arrival at Coles Bay, check in and have a good rest after the long day.

Overnight: Coles Bay

DAY 5 - COLES BAY

This morning, you will be joining the Wineglass Bay Cruise starting at 10am. Please be at the meeting point at least 10 mins prior. Experience the exquisite beauty of Wineglass Bay and the Freycinet Peninsula aboard the Schouten Passage 11, a 150 seat eco-catamaran. The journey is spectacular; the vessel will stop and allow you to gaze at sea caves, coves and the sheer granitecliffs, get up close to the wildlife and provide informative live commentary on landmarks, wile and history. Wineglass Bay is beautiful and remote, a shimmering crescent of white sand fringes at the edge of a perfect turquoise sea. Total Duration of the cruise is about 4.5 hours and lunch will be served on board

In the late afternoon, we would recommend a short hike up to Wineglass Bay Lookout This popular trail takes you to one of the most stunning views in all of Tasmania. Wineglass Bay's sensual shape and breathtakingly blue water has a white sandy beach exclamation point. It's simply not to be missed.

Overnight: Coles Bay

DAY 6 - COLES BAY > LAUNCESTON
Total Distance: Approx 181km / 2 hours 30 mins

After breakfast, check out and proceed to Devil's Corner Cellar Door and Lookout located by the edge of Moulting Lagoon on Tasmania's beautiful East Coast. It provides spectacular views across the Lagoon to the Hazards at Coles Bay. The new, architecturally designed Tower provides the perfect location to enjoy the view, while the recently opened cellar door provides tastings of the award-winning Devil's Corner wines, many exclusive to the cellar door.

Continues to drive towards Launceston. En-route, stop by Tasmanian Honey Company's gift shop and enjoy free tastings, in Perth, Northern Tasmania. The Tasmanian Honey Company began in 1978 as the concept of Julian Wolfhagen, a beekeeper with a profound passion for Tasmania, its wild forests and the honey that they produce.

Arrive Launceston for Cataract Gorge, a natural water basin surrounded by towering cliffs, native bushland, beautiful gardens, scenic walking trails and wildlife. The numerous walking trails also provide great views of the surrounding bushland, dramatic cliffs and the river below. Peacocks strut through the formal Victorian gardens on the northern side of the reserve, which include brilliant displays of azaleas and rhododendrons. There's also abundant native wildlife within naturally occurring grassland, woodland, dry forests and wet gullies. Guided walks are available.

Thereafter, proceed to hotel for check in and rest for the day.

Overnight: Launceston

DAY 7 - LAUNCESTON
