Today is action packed and fast paced, so we make an early start from Hobart and drive directly to the stunning Tasman Peninsula. This area has amazing history, fascinating stories and spectacular scenery. It is also home to Australia’s highest sea cliffs. We enjoy the panoramic views of the area from Pirates Bay Lookout which provides a great vantage here of the surrounding area.

Passing through Eaglehawk Neck and “The Dogline” our Tour Guides will share with you some truly amazing history and stories of the area. Then we begin one of Tasmania’s “Great Short Walks”. We follow a spectacular track, of around 2 km’s along the Waterfall Bay cliff top. The walk takes around 45-60 minutes, is undulating, but categorised as an easy walk. The track concludes at the remarkable rock formations of Tasman Arch and Devil’s Kitchen. Next stop is the Tasmanian Devil Unzoo. We arrive here for all the action of a Tasmanian Devil Feeding. Watch the snarling, fighting and bone crushing in a spectacle of devilish behaviour during the feeding. Hand feed the wallabies and walk amongst the local fauna and flora in the charming “Unzoo” setting. Continuing our journey, we arrive at the Port Arthur Historic Site. As we enter the Port Arthur Historic Site, there is a wealth of information and history to take in and you will have time to explore with around 2.5 hours on site. Your entry includes a complimentary Harbour Cruise around the Isle of the Dead and a guided walking tour with one of the Site’s expert guides. Discover the grim and violent history of the early Australian Penal system and get a sense of the isolation experienced by the convicts in this “inescapable prison”. On our return to Hobart, we make a stop at Federation Chocolate Factory, a small family run boutique chocolate stop, with a variety of chocolate flavours to sample. Further along we arrive in the late afternoon into historic Richmond Village. Meander the streets, stop for a coffee, visit the Lolly Shop and walk across Australia’s oldest bridge still in use – a convict built sand-stone bridge, reported to be haunted! Finally, before we re-enter Hobart we stop for a fabulous view across Hobart from a local lookout. A picturesque way to return to the city.

A day free at leisure or you can choose to add on optional tour of your choice.

The Bay of Fires has been voted as one of the top 10 beaches in the world! This tour focuses on some of the best scenery that Tasmania has to offer. The drive to Scottsdale has panoramic views of the forests and farms and where you will see cattle grazing and crops growing in the fields. Scottsdale is an agricultural farming town and has a unique history. Much of this is contained in the architecturally designed Forest Eco Centre. On the way to Pyengana Dairy we can call in to see the amazing avenue of memorial tree carvings at Legerwood. Originally planted in 1918 by the families and friends of the tiny community's fallen WW1 soldiers - one for each man, one for Gallipoli and one for the Anzacs - a lasting tribute, determined that these brave fathers, husbands, sons and sweethearts were never to be forgotten. The Pyengana Dairy Company is nearby and you are able to taste award winning traditionally made cheddar cheeses here. It has featured in the top 100 Greatest Australian Gourmet Experiences. Then we travel to St Helens for lunch at one of the local cafes or if you bring your own lunch it can be enjoyed on the white sands of the Bay of Fires. After lunch we travel out to the Bay of Fires and as we approach the coastal town of Binalong Bay, you will be amazed at the pristine beaches, crystal clear sparkling water and the pure white sands. We travel north along the Bay of Fires and have opportunities to stop and have a walk to feel the "squeaky" white sand between your toes and watch the waves lap at your feet. Explore the Bay of Fires Conservation Area which stretches from Binalong Bay to Eddystone Point. This is an idyllic part of Tasmania's coastline, tempting you with brilliant white beaches, turquoise coloured waters, crystal clear sparkling lagoons, wildflowers and lichen-covered granite rocks. After regrettably dragging ourselves away from this spectacular panorama, we travel via the St Marys Pass back to Launceston. This winding road complete with hairpin bends and sheer cliffs was carved out of rock by a team of about 300 convicts, connecting St Marys to the coast.

Travel through St Marys and the Fingal Valley with views of Ben Lomond on the final leg of our tour.

Morning at leisure. Check out and transfers to the airport by private vehicle.
