Suggested Itinerary

Day 1: HOBART - CURRINGA FARM

On arrival, you will be pick up and transfer to a local supermarket for a quick stop for lunch and probably to grab some groceries for your stay at the farm tonight. The drive to Curringa Farm, located at Hamilton will takes about 1 hour. Join the farm host for a farm tour after check. You will get to see working farm dogs, sheep shearing and friendly farming practices. Dinner on own arrangement tonight. Alternatively, do book a dinner hamper in advance (should this is required, additional cost applies).

Day 2: CURRINGA FARM - BONORONG WILDLIFE SANCTUARY - HOBART

After breakfast, you will be pickup and transfer to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary where you will join one of the daily tours to see some of the native Australia's animals. Upon entry, you will receive a complimentary bag of kangaroo food. The roos roam free within the Sanctuary and are always keen for a good scratch on the chest and some gentle hand feeding. Daily tours - included with entry - run at 11.30am, 2.00pm and 3.30pm. (NOTE: Private tours are available for groups of 5 pax or greater with a minimum of 48 hours notice - Please arrange in advance). Thereafter, transfer to Hobart for lunch at Fish Frenzy on own expense before we drive up to the summit of Mount Wellington, 1,270 metres (4,167 feet) above sea level. From the lookout you can take in sweeping views over Hobart, Bruny Island and the Tasman Peninsula. You can do an optional hike to Silver Falls along the Pipeline Track (40 minutes return) or follow the Lenah Valley Track (45 minutes return) to Sphinx Rock.

Day 3: BRUNY ISLAND

Take a full day tour from Hobart and spend a day on Bruny Island including guided return bus tour, ferry crossing, three hour Wilderness Cruise, morning tea and lunch. Robert Pennicott's multi-award winning wilderness and wildlife cruise takes you along Bruny Island's rugged coast beneath some of Australia's highest sea cliffs to enter deep sea caves and join in the search for wildlife such as seals, dolphins and birds of prey. The custom built boats are ideal for viewing the spectacular coastline and wildlife with covered open-aired seating providing an excellent all round view and connection with the environment.

Note: Tour starts at Pennicott Wilderness Journeys Booking Centre, Dock Head Building, Franklin Wharf Hobart / Pickup and Dropoff is not available on this tour.

Day 4: HOBART

Hobart at leisure.

You might want to plan this day to be a Saturday so that you can visit the Salamanca Market in the morning and visit MONA in the afternoon. Alternatively, you can book a day tour to Port Arthur.

Day 5: HOBART - LAUNCESTON
Check out and depart for Launceston (Approx 2 hours). On arrival at Launceston, you will proceed to Cataract Gorge The Gorge has walking tacks, swimming pool, the world's longest single span chairlift, a restaurant, cafe, a suspension bridge and panoramic lookouts with spectacular views. Peacocks and native wildlife add to the experience. On the southern side of the river is First Basin, featuring a swimming pool and an open area surrounded by bushland. This part of the Gorge is popular with locals for picnics and barbecues. On the shady northern side, known as the Cliff Grounds, is a Victorian garden with ferns and exotic plants. Relax on the rolling lawns, take shade under the rotunda and enjoy lunch with a view from the restaurant. There's also a kiosk and tea rooms where you can enjoy a cup of tea and scones. Wander across the footbridge that links the two areas or take a chairlift ride (own expense) across the expansive Gorge. Transfer to hotel after lunch. Rest of the day free at leisure.

Day 6: LAUNCESTON - CRADLE MOUNTAIN (TOUR DEPARTS: MON, WED, FRI & SUN)

Pick up to join your tour to Cradle Mountain this morning. You will venture deep into the Tasmanian forest and experience the solitary wilderness of waterfalls, glacial lakes, rainforest, wildlife and unsurpassed beauty of this World Heritage listed National Park. Discover many walks throughout the rainforest - catch your breath as you first glimpse the craggy outcrop of majestic Cradle Mountain towering above sparkling Dove Lake plateau.
