2 Nights Highlights of Ayers Rock (Coach Touring)


The World Heritage-listed and one of Australia’s most iconic symbols, Uluru is approximately 460 kilometres or a six hour drive southwest of Alice Springs. Right in the heart of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, Uluru is a place that speaks of timeless folklore, rich indigenous culture and great spirituality.

Suggested Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Ayers Rock
Upon arrival at Ayers Rock Airport, hope on one of the airport shuttle coach service for your transfers to the hotel.

This evening, included in your package is the Field of Light experience. Your Field of Light experience begins with a convenient hotel pick up and short transfer to the remote desert location. As darkness falls and Uluru is thrown into silhouette, 50,000 slender stems crowned with radiant frosted-glass spheres will gently bloom with rhythms of coloured light. Temporarily lose yourself in this monumental light installation as its pathways draw you in. This pass does not give access to the raised viewing area with views of Uluru (Please check optional add on for price).

Rest early this morning as you will need to wake up early for the Sunrise tour the following day.

Day 2: Choice of ONE full day tour

Option 1: Uluru Sunrise & Kata Tjuta (Code: Y14)
Tour Departs: Daily 90 mins prior to sunrise
Tour Concludes: 10:30am (Oct-Mar) / 11 am (Apr-Sep)
Rise early this morning to travel to Talinguru Nyakunytjaku in Uluru & Kata Tjuta National Park. Watch the first rays of the sun set the Red Centre alight while enjoying a warming cup of tea or coffee. Then travel to the mystical 36 domes of Kata Tjuta. On the way, enjoy panoramic views of the sourthern side of Kata Tjuta, before arriving at the base of Walpa Gorge. Spend some time exploring the gorge and the unusual conglomerate rock formations. The walking trail through Walpa Gorge follows the natural credk between 2 of the tallest domes of Kata Tjuta.

Option 2: Kata Tjuta Sunrise and valley of the Winds (Code: Y50)
Tour Departs: Daily 95 mins prior to sunrise
Tour Concludes: 11:30am (Oct-Mar) / 12 pm (Apr-Sep)
Travel to Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) where your Driver Guide will explain the geological history of the area. Watch the spectacular sunrise over Kata Tjuta with Uluru in the distance from the western dune viewing area, light breakfast included. Your Driver Guide will then escort you on a 2-3 hour walk to the Valley of the Winds lookout. Marvel at the unique flora and admire the view of the central valley of the domes of Kata Tjuta.

Please note that you are required to bring your own water bottles, which altogether are able to hold a minimum capacity of 2 litres per person (these can be filled with water on board the coach) It is highly recommended that you have protective clothing, a hat and sunscreen. This tour may return to Ayers Rock Resort after midday.

This evening, entered into the Australian Tourism Hall of Fame, Sounds of Silence offers the best of the Red Centre distilled into four magical hours. An unforgettable evening eating beautifully prepared food under the sparkling outback sky. The journey begins on a lone sand dune. A meandering path takes participants to an uninterrupted, 360 degree view of this vast landscape. In front is the fabled Uluru; behind are the domes of Kata Tjuta and possibly the most spectacular sunset you have ever seen. Here enjoy sparkling wine and a selection of delectable canapés. As the sun sets in a blaze of reds and oranges and into the starlit night, feast on a gourmet barbecue buffet of authentic Australian delicacies including barramundi, kangaroo, crocodile, bush salads and classic desserts, complemented by some of Australia's finest wines. Attention then turns to some of the world's best stargazing as the resident astronomer takes diners on an unforgettable tour of the spectacular southern night sky. As dinner winds down, select from a choice of tea, coffee or port. In winter, guests gather around a campfire to savour a special treat of hot mulled wine.

Day 3: Depart

Morning at leisure. After check out, hop on the Airport shuttle service to the airport for your departure flight
