Day 2: McLaren Vale - Kangaroo Island
Estimated distance: 177km / 3 hours 20 minutes

Drive to Cape Jervis to catch the passenger and car ferry over to Kangaroo Island. It is Australia's third largest island, an area of outstanding natural beauty and is considered to be one of the last unspoilt wonders of the world. It has friendly people, stunning beaches, geological wonders, an abundance of wildlife add a flourishing boutique food industry. Dine on fresh seafood, sheep cheeses and yoghurt, rock lobsters, Marron (fresh water crayfish), pure Ligurian bee honey, wine and olive oil.

Then drive to Seal Bay Conservation Park, home to Australia's largest sea lion colony. It is one of the few places in the world where these creatures are tolerant of people, and visitors are privileged to walk among them in their natural habitat. The Island's waters are an underwater paradise where you can interact with seals, sea lions and dolphins. See the legendary Leafy and Weedy Seadragons, over 270 species of fish, more than 60 shipwrecks and impressive walls of coral and red, orange and white sea sponges.

Overnight at Kangaroo Island Seafront.

Day 3: Kangaroo Island
Explore Flinders Chase National Park, the largest of the Island's parks, and have close encounters with kangaroos, koalas and echidnas. Witness the spectacular naturally sculptured granite boulders of Remarkable Rocks and the playful New Zealand fur seals at Admiral's Arch. This is a haven for wildlife, and has numerous walking trails.

Explore Kelly Hill Conservation Park's extensive cave system. Join one of the adventure caving or show cave tours and see sinkholes and explore caverns that lead to caves of ornate calcite formations.

Overnight at Kangaroo Island Seafront.

Day 4: Kangaroo Island - Victor Harbor
Estimated distance: 164km / 3 hours 10 minutes

Morning make your way to Penneshaw for the return ferry journey then depart for Victor Harbor, South Australia's most famous coastal resort town. Renowned as a great place for watching Southern Right whales in Winter, it is also home to a colony of Little Penguins on Granite Island. The island can be reached by a short walk or on the horse-drawn tram across the wide 630-metre causeway.

Overnight at McCracken Country Club Victor Harbour.

Day 5: Victor Harbor - Hahndorf - Adelaide
Estimated distance: 100km / 1 hour 30 minutes

Early morning check out of hotel and travel to Adelaide Hills. Adelaide Hills' four distinct seasons each offer something different - profusions of bulbs in Spring, an escape from the heat in Summer, amazing colours in Autumn and romantic mists in Winter. There's no better time to explore the beautiful Adelaide Hills than in Autumn by exploring the Autumn Leaves Trail to discover the brilliant colours. From November to January, go cherry picking at the various orchards on the 'Cherry Trail Map'.

First off, visit Hahndorf, Australia's oldest surviving German settlement. Opened daily, the town's retail outlets stock a good selection of antiques, souvenirs, local arts and crafts and local produce. Enjoy a hearty German meal at Hahndorf Inn's award-winning restaurant, or tea and scones in one of the many cozy cafes.

Mount Lofty Summit, 15-minutes' drive away from Hahndorf, offers spectacular views of Adelaide and the Piccadilly Valley. Browse through the Visitor Information Centre and gift shop, or have a meal at the restaurant whilst enjoying the breathtaking views.

Less than 40-minutes' drive from Mount Lofty Summit, drop by at Melba's Chocolate Factory. Visitors are invited to wander and watch a traditional range of sweets being made. The factory shop has a large range of product including souvenirs and gift lines. Then head north toward the Big Rocking Horse & Toy Factory. Climb to the top of the world's biggest rocking horse at 18-metre high! Wander through the Toy Factory adjacent to it to see Australia's largest range of quality wooden toys, including an impressive supply of souvenirs.

Then journey back to Adelaide for rest of the day.

Overnight at Oaks Horizons Adelaide .

Day 6: Adelaide
Renowned as the Festival City and the Australian capital of Food & Wine, Adelaide is an exciting city for anyone who enjoys the good life - great food & wine, the arts, shopping, entertainment or simply enjoying the relaxed lifestyle.

Located in the heart of the city next to Adelaide's Chinatown, Adelaide Central Market is the oldest fresh produce market in Australia. The variety of produce on offer is superb, which includes fruits and vegetables, cheeses, seafood, continental meats and organic produce.

Explore Adelaide's museum collections and exhibitions: the Art Gallery of South Australia holds one of Australia's finest art collections; the Australian Aboriginal Cultures Gallery at the South Australian Museum has the world's most comprehensive Aboriginal artifacts collection; the Tandanya Aboriginal Cultural Institute is the world's first indigenous-owned and managed multi-arts Aboriginal cultural centre.

Only 20-minutes' from the city, Port Adelaide houses the historic South Australian Maritime Museum. Meet bottlenose dolphins on the Port River cruises or go kayaking. Visit the artistic seaside suburb of Semaphore or hunt for antiques, books and bric-a-brac at Fisherman's Wharf Sunday Market next to the Port's lighthouse.

Adelaide's retail hub is the Rundle Mall - with many arcades and more than 600 shops. Unley Road, Burnside and Hyde Park are recommended for clothing boutiques, and Magill Road and Norwood Parade for Antiques. Tea Tree Plaza and Marion shopping centres are the major suburban shopping centres. The Harbour Town Outlet Shopping Centre is a one-stop destination for designer brands and homeware stores, offering savings up to 60 percent daily. For renowned South Australian brands, check out Haigh's Chocolates and Jurlique.

Rundle Street in Adelaide's East End has a busy, casual atmosphere and is recommended for lunch and night dining. Hutt Street is a great breakfast spot, and Gouger Street is known for its Asian and seafood restaurants. O'Connell Street and Melbourne Street in North Adelaide offers fine dining and cafe society side by side.
